Call for Presentations

Conference Details

Format: Virtual Conference on the Whova Platform

Presentation Duration: 60 minutes + 15 minutes Live Q&A

Pre-Conference Workshops: 150 minutes (2.5 hours) which includes time for activities and attendee interaction.

Panel Discussions Duration: 150 minutes (2.5 hours) which includes time for attendee interaction and Q&A.

We are seeking experienced and passionate individuals to deliver compelling presentations, workshops or panel discussions on topics related to genealogical career development, business management, and industry advancements. Each 60-minute presentation will be followed by a 15-minute interactive live Q&A session with our virtual audience.

Compensation

Speakers selected for the 2024 Virtual PMC will receive an honorarium of $350 per presentation or $575 per workshop or panel discussion. An additional $50 per presentation or $75 per workshop or panel discussion will be awarded to speakers who submit the required syllabus material in the requested form by the stated deadline.

Some speakers may be selected to participate in a second Live Q&A that occurs outside their normal working hours. If so, an additional honorarium may be offered.

Accepted speakers will receive a full complimentary conference registration and complimentary digital syllabus.

Submission Guidelines

If you have valuable insights, innovative strategies, or groundbreaking research to share with our genealogy professionals, we invite you to submit your presentation proposal.

Please include the following information in your submission:

  • Contact Information
  • Speaker Biography (25 word maximum)
  • Recent virtual speaking experience, including presentation title and date covering the last 18 months
  • Title of presentation, workshop, or panel discussion (15 word maximum)
  • Summary for brochure and syllabus (50 word maximum)
  • Outline/description of presentation, workshop, or panel discussion

APG kindly asks that you refrain from submitting presentations that have been previously presented at national, regional, or state-level genealogy events or are scheduled to be presented prior to September 2024. Additionally, presentations that are available online for free or through subscription should not be submitted.

Submission Deadline

The deadline for presentation proposals is 11:59 PM Eastern time on 21 April 2024.

Selection Process

Our programming team will carefully review all submissions and select presentations based on their relevance, innovation, and potential impact on the professional genealogy community.

APG welcomes speakers from diverse backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives to participate in our event.
